We love it when our favorite actors and music artists really stand up for what they believe in. They use their influence to help make the world a better place!

Lizzie Sider is a 15-year-old country singer who sings for a cause. She’s been nominated for a2013 Hollywood Music in Media Award for her work with the Global Women’s Empowerment Network (GWEN). She works with the GWEN to stand up against bullying and teach children everywhere to treat each other with respect and kindness. Lizzie has been nominated for her song“Butterfly,” and she’ll be performing it at the awards show at The Fonda Theater on Thursday, November 21.

Lizzie is also the sponsor for the GWEN ALERT app. The app is designed to work with girls to make their lives safer. It includes a GPS, and a quick access contact list that texts your close friends and family members where you are and alerts them if you’re in a dangerous situation.
