17 YEAR OLD TOP 40 POP-COUNTRY ARTIST AND ANTI-BULLYING ACTIVIST LIZZIE SIDER ANNOUNCES NO COST BULLY PREVENTION DVD PACKAGE TO SCHOOLS
From PRWEB By Shepard Doniger October 2, 2015
With October being National Bullying Prevention Month, emerging pop-country star singer/songwriter and long-time anti-bullying activist, Lizzie Sider, is announcing the availability of her “Bully Prevention DVD Package” which is being offered at no cost to all U.S. and international schools. So far, more than 500 schools across 48 States, Canada and Australia, representing more than 300,000 students, have signed up for this package.
Lizzie, in the last 2 years, has performed her live Bully Prevention Assembly, which she named, “Nobody Has the Power to Ruin Your Day”, at more than 350 elementary and middle schools and in front of more than 150,000 students.
"We know that when bullying is met face to face it gets diminished or goes away altogether."
The DVD package includes a professionally produced 30 minute DVD, hosted by Lizzie, that closely tracks the content of her live assembly, colorful “Nobody Has the Power to Ruin Your Day” wristbands for each student and faculty member, and a discussion booklet to help teachers carry on the bully prevention discussion in the classrooms.
Close to 33 percent of the nation’s 6-12th graders say they’ve been the victim of bullying. 70 percent of students and school staff report they’ve witnessed bullying. More than 160,000 students stay home each day because they’re afraid of being bullied. The statistics are alarming and continue to grow. Lizzie has said, “that because the requests I receive for me to perform my bully prevention assembly, live, have been so overwhelming, and since we cannot be everywhere we are asked to be and want to go, this 30 minute DVD package is the next best thing.”
“Studies show that when bullying is met face-to-face it gets diminished or goes away altogether”, says Lizzie, a victim of bullying herself. “My campaign has always been about empowering young people and encouraging positivity, and ‘Nobody has the Power to Ruin Your Day’, pretty much says it all.” “I believe our students are forever changed by Lizzie’s performance,” said Dr. Valerie Bailey, School Counselor, at Harriet Tubman Village Charter School, in San Diego, CA.
A Florida 6th grader had this to say after Lizzie performed at her school, “I saw around my school that people stopped bullying just because you came and inspired them so much. Our school is a better school now because of you.”
At her live assemblies, and in the DVD, Lizzie talks with kids, interactively sings with them and builds greater awareness of the bully problem. She specifically helps kids deal with bullying and discusses how to stop it.
The theme song of the assembly and DVD is Lizzie’s debut radio single, “Butterfly” http://goo.gl/hmdYZx, which made the Top 40 on the Music Row Chart, and has over 1,000,000 views on YouTube. Lizzie co-wrote this song about her own experiences being teased and ridiculed in early elementary school.
