Country singer Lizzie Sider chatted about her "Nobody Has The Power to Ruin Your Day" tour, which commences on October 6 in New York.

It is a bully prevention assembly tour, and it runs through October 15. It will feature visits with at least one school in each of New York City's five boroughs. "I got the inspiration to become a public anti-bullying activist because of my experiences in elementary schools being bullied. I wasn't a person that would fire back at people. I would come home crying every day and one day, walking out the door, my dad reminded me that 'nobody has the power to ruin your day' and that just kind of stuck with me," she said. "I didn't realize the truth behind that, but as time went on, I realized that the most important thing was that I didn't let anybody from the outside knock me down. That became a huge statement for me all my life."

The tour has already hit such states as California, Florida and Texas, and the teen country singer has met with more than 250 schools. "I did 35-minute assemblies and I shared my personal stories and had open discussions with the children," she said. "The feedback that I have gotten from the teachers were amazing."

Next month, she revealed that she will be going to Washington, D.C, to spread her inspirational messages.

She will be performing her original tune "Butterfly," which Sider co-wrote about her own experiences, and how she overcame being teased. Her goal is to inspire children, using her own life story, to pursue careers in the music industry. "It originally came from her experiences and it felt like a cocoon. It's about anybody who is going through any personal struggle. It's about believing in themselves and who they truly are," she said.

On October 15, she will be performing a one-hour acoustic set at The Bitter End in Greenwich Village, along with her friend, Justin Stein. They will be playing songs from her forthcoming new EP, which will be out in the near future. It will feature a diverse mix of pop, rock, country and jazz. That show can also be streamed live on the venue's website. "I am going to play a few songs and I am really looking forward to that. Justin is such a talented guy and a great friend. It's going to be great. I love going to New York City, since there is so much talent," she exclaimed.
