LIZZIE SIDER JUST REINVENTED GIRL POWER — HERE’S HOW

Our fave celebs have SO much to teach us about girl power and empowerment, and Lizzie Sider is no exception! We got to chat with the singer over the phone recently, and we were blown away by how inspirational she is!

The multi-talented gal — who describes herself as a “singer/songwriter, actress, dancer, and anti-bullying activist” — has SO much wisdom when it comes to empowerment. She told us all about her favorite message for songs — “I love writing about girl power” — and the story behind it.

The gorgeous singer was actually bullied in elementary school, and she used that experience to spread an anti-bullying message that promotes empowerment in her song “Butterfly!” She told us, “It’s a song about whatever trials we may face in life, whatever things we may go through, at the end of the day we just need to remember that we are beautiful and we’re strong. Our confidence needs to shine through, and nobody can take that away from you.”

We LOVE how Lizzie was able to take a horrible thing and make it into a beautiful song, especially one that tells girls around the world that they’re not alone and they can also be strong and confident!

She’s also coming out with an album soon (!!!), and we can’t be more excited to hear it! The “Butterfly” singer (who’s totally a mix of early Miley and Taylor Swift) will be releasing a song soon called “Like A Girl,” and she spilled what we can expect from it. “It’s all about being as strong as you can and be a girl, and don’t ever let anyone tell you that being a girl means anything less because you are strong and you are incredible,” she said. We agree 100 percent! We need to live in a world where girls aren’t underestimated because they do GREAT things.

How excited are you about Lizzie’s upcoming album?  Let us know in the comments!
